It is a smallblock V8 that I think came from a car (possibly old Impalla - 283?). Engine code stamped below passenger side head is F0709D. Is this the right code or do I need to look elsewhere? -eb

I think this was originaly a four speed pickup and this motor & tranny came from an old Impala. The steering wheel and auto coulmn say Impala on them also, so could have been the whole swap.
