I'm planning on doing some highway driving but not all of the time.

Should I swap out the rear end or put in a 3.55 conversion?

If I swap out the rear end does anyone have any recommendations on what to put in?

Inmy,

72-81 Camaro rear end is pretty popular, other options I have heard of that will work in our trucks, S-10 4X4 rear axle..2wd will not work..too narrow. I would be interested in measuring the newer S-10 axles that have the rear disc brakes...I even looked at 91 Mazda pickup axle. It had 6 bolt rear and the width measured up right...I just had trouble putting a Mazda (ford) under my Chevy.

I bought a T-5 thinking I would change the tranny and rear end...the project is on hold since I don't plan on cruising the freeways quite yet...

Get a 10 bolt truck center You'll also need the two upper and lower long bolts

Pull out your center section knock out the two upper and lower bolts and put the longer ones in

Install the newer center section and your original side gears and put your old axels back in.

Select a dirveshaft angle you want and stitch weld the pillow blocks the stock axel piviots on DONE there are several ratios starting in 55
