I'd like to remove the dipstick tube so I can clean it and paint it better and I don't want to destroy it in the processs.
How do I get this tube out? Does it unscrew or is it pressed in?
I can't get any wiggle out of it at all.
Now that I've got the oil pan off can I put a snug fitting punch in the bottom of the hole and tap the tube out from the bottom? | | |

Then clamp a vise grip around the tube where the rod is and try to twist the tube gently. You can also tap on the bottom of the vise grip with a hammer to help jar in loose.
I would not use a punch on the bottom side. You may mushroom the bottom end and then really have a bad time getting it out. | | |
