Anybody! I need a little info. I have just bought a disassembled 54 GMC that has already had the frame done , with a Camaro front-end and rear axle, but the previous owner was going in a little different direction than I want to go. He disposed of the frame mounted brake asembly and the front of the original frame. I want a brake under the floor and would like to retain the front frame section for the radiator support mount and bumper bracket holes.Which other year AD trucks the same in these areas for spare parts? Any leads on these parts?

Hey folks! Nobody has any help here. I can buy a 51 Chevy parts truck for cheap but do not know for sure if it will work.

The '51 will be different in a couple ways. First the kick-up in the rear is higher than your '54, so getting the bed to sit right could be a problem. Also, I've been told that the front crossmember is different between Chevy and GMC.

I have a '54 Chevy frame sitting almost bare in my yard, and would rather have one that's been subframed. But you are too far from Seattle to make it sound practical to think about a trade...

I have a 54 GMC 1/2 ton longbed, which I bought a little over a year ago. When I bought it had a chevy 261 motor instead of the 248 GMC engine. The rear engine support, which has the rear engine mounts were modified to accept the chevy engine and the front engine support was also modified as well. If you have any questions about the '54 GMC I could help you by sending pictures so you could see how it should look, but I do not have any of the extra parts you mentioned. Thanks for the response everybody. I have another 54 GMC that is all original so I can use it to look at to build something for the front crossmember if necessary. Anyone know anything relating to the brake pedals' difference thru AD years and models? I'd rather not use a swing pedal.
