Well... 33 celcius today.
- My dogs tap dance on the hot asphalt.
- Breweries are operating at full tilt.
- Pools are overflowing with kids.
- Girls are dangerously under-dressed.

The truck shows NO sign of over-heating but my temp guage does NOT move? Suspect.
I read in the manual that it is an ether filled affair???
Is there a retrofit for a temp sending unit?

What is a bolter supposed to do?

"What is a bolter supposed to do?" grin
- keep the dog on the lawn
- drink til ya drop
- keep a good distance from those noisey pools
- wear sunglasses so the underdressed chicks can't tell yer leering
- get a dairy or candy thermometer, pop the rad cap when its up to temp, insert thermometer. if the cooling system is a-ok, and yu've got a thermostat, the temp gauge should stay stable once engine warmed up . . .

I have run my truck in 100 degree weather and the water temperature was rock steady at 180. I also tested my gauge with boiling water and it pegs like it should, so I suspect you are fine. The trucks really have a well designed cooling system.

How come here in Northern California (100F/38C) I haven't noticed the same phenomenon?

- Dog won't leave the air conditioning register
- At work, can't drink
- Pool hasn't been dug in my back yard yet
- Girls? What, did they all go to the beach?

It never moves? When it's cold it should show ambient air temperature (33C) and when its running it should increase to running temp - maybe 80C - 90C?

If it doesn't move ever there's a problem. If it moves only when warming up - great!

The used gauge I got from Mothertrucker shows cold when I start up and gradually warms and stays in the middle. It was hot today when I went to Home Depot and it stays at the same temp no matter what.

The patina matched my gauges perfectly.
