I have a 1953 GMC and the existing emergency brake rod was bent and trapped between the cab and frame. Does anyone have a picture of this rod? Is it a straight rod or is there a bend in it? I appreciate any help so I can put it back together again. frown

I don't have my 53 here yet, so I don't know for certain. Would the earlier ones be the same? Well at least this will bounce ya up to the top of the heap and maybe someone will notice and clue us both in. If the earlier ones are the same I can take one out of one of the pickups I have here and get you a picture so you can get your truck back on the road.

Straight but it is mounted at an angle from the left front of the cab floor to the rear middle of the cab.

HI Guy's
Hate to disagree with the straight rod. But I just restored my 53 gmc awhile back. The emergency brake rod does have a slight bend. Service manual even shows the slight bend. Hope this helps.
