Realize of course I can change the whole front axle upgrading suspension and yada yada. I don't want to street rod the old girl- just reduce the effort on me. So, is there a bolt on unit out there that fits an old pickup without alot of fabrication?

There is a kit available to add PS while keeping the straight axle. It involves a Toyota PS box and a U-joint and adapter for the original column. Oh, you also change the Pitman arm and drag link.

They talk about a complete kit available from Classic Performance products and there is an extensive pictorial presentation in the article.
