OWNED 1991-1994. HOOD LOOKS LIKE EYES THAT YEAR. FRONT TURN SIGNAL HOUSINGS WERE STEEL, NOT THOSE CRAPPY PLASTIC ONES! STILL HAD ORIGINAL PLANKS AND RETAINER STRIPS STEPSIDE LONG BED, ONLY 1 PIECE OF WOOD POOR SHAPE. ALSO HAD FLAT REAR WINDOW, 292 I-6, GRANNY-4 TOP LOADER(CLIMBED LIKE A GOAT!) HOWEVER, BODY HAD MORE HOLES THAN GOOD SWISS CHEESE. NEVER SEEN SO MANY SHADES OF GREY AND BLUE ON 1 VEHICLE. SEAT WAS LACKING MOST UPHOLSTERY(RAT NEST), BUT SOOOOO COMFORTABLE. WISH I NEVER SOLD IT.

I think most of us on here can give a story of the ones we sold and wished we hadn't. I have had a few like that- a 65 Chevy 1/2 ton wide, short bed with the original driveline and big rear window option. It still had the original paperwork from being sold new in the glovebox. Ran great but showed the 30+ years of New Jersey life. I sold it when I came in the Air Force- dumb move but at the time I needed to sell it. I also had a 69 Chevy longhorn 1 ton I converted to four wheel drive from what was left of my 72 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4. I spent a lot of hours on it converting it and making it road worthy. It was sold to pay for college but the money never made it to college- I bought a 79 Chevy instead- dumb move again. Yeah, I know the pain of selling and looking back wishin' I hadn't.

1937 Dodge 4 door suicide rears that my Grandfather gave to me at the age of 16 in 1964. He had bought the car used in 1939. I sold the car to a kid when I was 21 and started kicking myself in the butt shortly after and still do to this day. Not that this car was any kind of special model but now at the age of 55 the sentmental value can not be calculated. This is why I tell my 14 year old son that the freshly done frame off resto 59 Apache short stepside will be his one day. Not at the age of 16 but when he is old enough to really realize what it is he has. I have told him perhaps for his 35th B'Day. :mad: he says. :p I say.

1972 Chevy Malibu ragtop. Belonged to my uncle, my aunt and my Dad before I got it. Was in the family for almost 15 years by the time I sold it. "Needed money for college," of course, money got blown on other crap. Found out a couple of years ago I had 1 of only 10, 000 cars (convertible) made the last 2 years they were produced (1971-72) :o . Man, what a dumb move to sell it! :mad: I hate myself to this day. I bet you'll get another 50 or so "regrets" stories on this post.

Hey Wannabe, it must be that bad karma you are still burning off that has prevented you from your truck.

I am really going to miss the boat I am about to sell.

My Dad bought a '61 2 months before I was born and I grew up in that truck. He gave it to the milkman to use the motor in his milktruck. ( he had had 5 **** motors in it and the 235 was the best thing he had ever done!) I was only a couple of years away from driving and had my eye on it so I was disappointed. Years later, My freind and I were driving around and saw a 61 longbed for sale in Mass. The lady's husband had died years before and she had kept it for sentimental reasons. She wanted $100.00. We talked her down to $25.00. Friend and his Dad and I go back with a tow rope and haul it 30 miles down 495 to Mansfield and we get it almost home and his old man let the clutch out a couple of times to get the oil going again and loosen it up. Put an old battery in it and it fired up after 20 seconds and ran like a top. Kept it the friends' house and when I go to get it he wants $300.00!
We're talking again after 20 years. I'm close to getting my "new" '61 4x4 driveable. It's been a long road! ( I know, it's only an ugly '61, but it's a lot more than a piece o' metal.)
