this engine is supposed to be an 350 but im not sure about what it came out of casting #3970010
4 bolt main Stamping # v0302txb can anyone tell me anything

Engine block casting 3970010 used on 350 blocks 1969-1979 in cars and trucks.

Engine ID code V0302tbx
V- made in Flint
03- March
02- 2nd day of month
tbx- engine code designating it was made in 1975, its a 350, 165 HP, 4 BBLS, used in C20-3500 trucks.

what or were did you get that info from what I was told is that it came from a nova 1970 ive been really curious abuot it before I get started on it

Go to www.nastyz28.com then numbers decoding and engine decoding. It's primarily a camaro site that has a lot of info on Chevy SB's. Small Block Chevy Engine Block Identification

The block would work for a 350, 327(Large journal), or a 302. It would depend on which crank and pistons you use, the rods are the same except for a 400 small block. Later

My book says it is a 350 cu.in. truck motor.mfg.from 1975 to 1977. 165 HP.used in C-20 to 3500 series trucks.Should have a 4 bbl.carb.My book is Chevrolet Small-Block V/8 Guide.Hope this helps.
