I'm still working on adding IFS to my 1953 Suburban. I would like to use a narrowed cross member and suspension from a 1972 Chevy 1/2 ton P/U. Are drop spindles with 5 on 4-3/4 bolt pattern available for this? I would like the bolt pattern to match my rearend which is also a 5 on 4-3/4 bolt pattern. Any idea's greatly appreciated.

I would like an answer to this question too. I am to the point of drilling holes in the frame to bolt the crossmember in, and I know that the ride height is too high. I also would like to match the bolt pattern up with my rear end's bolt pattern.

Might be easier to match the rear to the front. The only way I've seen 5x4-3/4 on a '72 Chev/GMC pickup was by converting to Mustang II.

If there is another answer I'd be interested, but my plan is to also use the rear from the same truck I grab the IFS from.

the answer is simple, have the rotors redrilled to 4 3/4"

btw, i STILL think that F.E. is too wide(but i like mine lowered a lot)

I agree that the front end is a little too wide, but I believe in function over fashion. In the years that I have messed with vehicles, I have learned to make it operate correctly before making it look good. Also, the wide stance should make the truck more stable at high speeds (over 100).

tomslik & Phil, I never really looked that close at the mounting flange to mounting flange width. I pulled a tape on the chassis and figured to narrow the 72 Chevy cross member by 1-7/8", which would allow me to direct bolt to my OEM chassis. In your travels would this still be wide? I have seen this setup without narrowing and agree it is to wide (even with inside of fender). I figured with the correct wheel offset it would be about perfect. Thanks for the feedback.

Okay, I did some research. A company www.nolimit.net has drop spindles for 1963 thru 1970 #6370DS or 1970 and 1971 7172DS. I believe these are 2-1/2" drop. Then you add the 12" disc kit with the 5 on 4-3/4" bolt pattern #ED6072-5. I think these use the common Nova/Camaro rotors. Lowered and matching rear disc setup.
