Right now theres a square tank that was made or somthing that I want to get rid of. Anyway, I have a sattle tank but its for the passanger side, and the truck already has that one. So, I looked at the tank, and it seems that the brackets can be switched to the other side of the tank and mounted up properly. All I have to do is turn the gas tank filler hose 180 degrees, and mount it up.... Does anyone have experience with this?? Will this work, I think it will.
Also, how do I remove the gas gauge unit thats on top of the tank?? I cant find any screws, does the whole thing just screw out some how?? Thanks,

#25526 04/22/2004 9:00 AM | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 Member | | Member Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 | You may find that it will have a problem filling as the long neck and curves in the filler neck will cause it to fill really slow.
You can remove the sending unit by using an od screwdriver or punch with a hammer and tapping the inner ring counter-clockwise until it lines up the tabs with the cut outs in the flange on the tank itself. Make sure you clean as much dirt & crud from around the moveable ring area so you do not get any dirt inside the tank.
The tank you need can be had really cheap if you have the measurements,,,,

And the vent hose, thats just for air release right, so air doesnt come up the filler hose? Anway, I was getting ready to drive me truck for the first time, and realized that the harmonic balancer is wobling pretty good. I tightened it up pretty darn good to. I was told that the rubber in between probably wore out. So, I will need to get another one, I needed one anyway for the new timing tab I have.
