Help !!! Does anyone know what the parking brake rod (from the foot pedal to the swivel rod) looks like mine is gone. Is it a rod the can be purchased or do I have to make my own? I appreciate any help.

Which model of truck do you have?

OldCarKook, thanks for the picture, I can't read the part number but it's on the far right, the straight rod with the turn buckle. I'm not sure of the model number of the truck, no ID plates on it. It is a six lug wheel if that helps.

The parking rods are different from 1/2 to 3/4. (chevy) My 54-3/4 was longer than the 1/2 I bought from Carter's. I ended up going to a local welding shop and buying a 5/16 dia. rod, and threading the ends to accept the clevis. YOu will need to tack a washer or clip mid way to attach the spring.

Hope this helps.

Jim,

Thanks for the information. I'll try to determine what I need then attempt a go at it.
