12 bolt series 3 ring gear case

Anybody know if the 12 bolt car and 12 bolt truck bare case is the same? I know the axel gears are probably different. Also am looking for one to change the 3:73 to a 3:08 in my 64 short wide

The carriers are the same for 12-bolt rear ends,,,WITH certain gear ratios. You will need a different carrier for the 3:08 as the width of the ring gear is different and the mounting surface for the ring gear ON the carrier have different measurements. Check facts on a ring and pinion website,,, west coast differential,,, randys ring & pinion...
