I was just wondering how welcome I'd be here seeing as I am building a panel an all, It's on a 72 c10 frame but it's, are you ready it's a Ford, a 56 f100 to be exact and no I'm not a Chevy hater or else why would I be building on a rock. It's going to be chevy powered as well.All this was probably mentioned with my introduction but not sure if everyone reads those. I believe that there is a lot of similarities in these vehicles regardless of make especially ones in the 50's and with regards of repairing and restoring, rodding what have you :blat: Well I'll see where this gets me

where about's in ontario are you? I am not a ford hater just never liked them.

I had a '56 Ford Panel with a 350/350 combo. Camaro front clip and rear end. I converted the rear doors by welding both together and adding top hinges and gas pistons. It was my daily driver forever, then decided to sell it some 8 years ago to fund my '56 Chevy Burb. Unfortunately, I'm still working on my Burb .

welcome aboard. I have worked in the generating station there in Ear Falls. In Truckin or Truck Builder magazine, some months back, they did an article where they took a 50 or so F*rd panel and mounted it on an Explorer chassis. They cut the body lengthwise and added three inches. It was really quite amazing!

I don't think anyone here will want to string you up for having a Ford. What you may find is that you won't get much response to Ford specific questions.

Its not that people won't want to help, but this being a Chevy/GMC focused crowd it may just be that no one here knows the answer. Won't always be true, but don't take offense when you don't get an answer...

Hi there guys,Thanks for the welcome. I won't be asking ford questions here just the ones pertaining to the chevy frame and power train. Hey there, truckernix how long ago did you work at the generating station here and were you a resident here at one time, they are adding onto it again right now.
Seon sorry it's taking so much time to replace your panel it will be worth it in the long haul, I've had mine since 99 but only started on it in 2005, it hasn't seen the road I think since the early 70's and I'll probably will be in my 70's before it see's the road again ( but I really hope not)

Well, at least it's going to be dependable!! All kidding aside, I like a lot of the Ford body styles, just never liked working on them.

Hey you boys over there, get a rope and we'll put'em outta his misery! All in good fun. Welcome aboard. If I would of had the money some years back before I got my Chevy trucks. I had a chance to buy two 39 or 40 Ferd trucks for about seven bills with spare Flatty engines! Had just relocated and had no extra dough re me layin' around. I still like those years of that make. They look perty cool! My 52 3/4 ton truck is transplanted to a 78 1/2 ton frame. works out pretty good so far.
