The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Panels 'N Burbs AD Burb Glass Replacement ?

I recently bought a 1950 GMC burb from a fellow board member. It is a great, solid suburban. I gave it a tune up and rebuilt the brakes so it is now drivable. It came with all new glass yet to be installed. My question is where to get the weatherstripping for the side windows. There is a rope style piece that does on the outer edge before the felt track goes in. It is about 1/4 by 1/2" rectangle. I have checked the catalogs I have to no avail. Any leads?

The whiskers that go in the stainless-steel vertical bars are not so easy to find. Restoration Specialties & Supply, Inc. has whiskers that can be adapted to fit the Chevrolet suburban's vertical bars. However, information has been posted on the oldGMCtrucks.com site that indicates that Chevrolet Advance-Design suburbans had one vertical bar per pair of side windows but GMC New Design suburbans had two vertical bars per pair of side windows. The whiskers might be different.

BTW I recently looked at another hydramatic 54 here in ca. Been sitting a long time and had some rust so I passed. After getting my last hydramatic truck going, I am hooked.
