Sorry this is off topic, but I couldn't see any better place to ask. I have a 61 c-40 with the hydrovac unit, and I'm having trouble getting it bled. For some reason the system was dry when I got it, so the entire system was dry. I've tryed bleeding it acording to the chevy book, but the book says to use a pressure bleeder, which I don't have. I've been doing it with a vacuum pump, but it should still work, right? Also, the book calls for 2 bleeders on the hydrovac unit, and I only see one. I have one on the top, and where the book calls for the other, at the end of the main cylinder, I only find a plug. Removal of this plug does nothing, but when the plug located on the bottom of the end of the clyinder is loosened, brake fluid comes out in a stream. I have bled all the wheel cylinders, athough I had signifigant trouble with the fronts. Is there some special tool for these? Currently, I can just barely lock up the wheels with the engine on, and have nowhere near enough petal to do it with the engine off. The brakes firm up nicely if the petal is pumped, so I'm assuming there's still some air in the system, but I don't know how to get it out. Is there some trick I'm missing? Thanks.
