Anyone have questions on a 1941-46 Chevy or GMC dual wheel panel truck I may be able to help. I have a 1942 Chevy 1-1/2 ton dual wheel panel. Check it out on the Gallery 41-46, post your questions here or e-mail or call me at [email protected] 1-262-392-2989 I also need some parts for mine, some 1/2 ton and larger panel parts are the same. Thanks!!!

Hello, I'm Tim and just bought a 46 chevy panel and don't know a thing about it. The title lists a vin # 21dsa1264 and the only tag on the vehicle I can find is on the passenger side firewall and that says 21dsa1264 is the chassis #. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tim

Tim,

My numbers are similar.
21 is Janesville WI
DS is 1 Ton or 3/4 Ton Special
A is January
1264 is the squence number

I have been told that 2629 were produced and this was probably done in the first few months of 1947.

This is my best guess and comes Brads 41-46 Website and help from some other guys on this site.

Looks like you, Marv and I should rendeyvous and stage a parade up here in the great white North!

Tim,
One more thing, you can see if you have a 1Ton or a 3/4 by counting the leaves in the springs. If you have 8 then you probably have a 1 Ton. It has a 134.5" wheel base.

Marv;

I have been looking for a long time as well. I have just decided to fix/rebuild what I have. There have been some panels on E-Bay for parts but they were usually a long way off.

I think the best bet is to find a fabricator or sheet metal guy that can build what you need.

Marv, Do you need any front fenders? I have a 41 1 ton with 17" tires. I was lucky and found some NOS fenders rather than straighten what I had.

I held on to them because they were too good to get rid of.
