Bill Bill shure I am and even over at the old gmc site, I mean I have everyone talking about it, so like everyone seams to know its for sale I just realy haven't listed it here,Thanks for the plug though, by the way I am just having some fun with this, life is to short not have some fun once in a while, realy most of you guys are a great bunch, just a few who no how to crank a guy off, and realy I want to sell it but I don't everyone seams to think 15k is to much but you know I have had such a positive responce and very few , thats to much from over 30 responce in the first hour it was on craigs, I figure if it goes great if not thats ok to. And one thing I know for sure , anyone who tells you they are not in this or any other hobby for the money or proffit is full of B.S. .I mean what would be the point, we are all just care takers for a short time of all this realy cool stuff, I think it all comes down to one thing realy, enjoying the hobby and makeing a little money here and there and watching a few guys get twisted off about stupid stuff, you seam like a fair level headed guy who enjoys life and can have fun with it.We all need to just enjoy life and have fun. Your Burb is a Beauty though . [/b]You know maybe thats why I have it priced so high secretly inside of me I don't realy want to sell it,she is a beauty though. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | I hear ya Chris - but the "profit" some here are in it for is having a simple fun vehicle for their vehicle needs - just good ol workin men's trucks I've been working on a 57 panel to be my daily, and when it's close enough may have to sell one of the pickups I now have to pay for the final work on the panel - hate to let red go, but it's worth the most and the Frankentruck will do the picking-up necessary I might hafta take something less than I'd like in order to move red, just because I can't justify 3 trucks, and I'm not a 'collector', but my profit will be that I've had the use of it for quite a few years, and [in greater 'style'], saved much over newer rigs I might have had I'd say that burb should be worth 15+, but you hafta find the right person - top dollar will only be found w/ much patience, so like joker sez ,,,, just drive it or put it in Barret-Jackson Bill | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 35 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 35 | Originally posted by red58: I hear ya Chris - but the "profit" some here are in it for is having a simple fun vehicle for their vehicle needs - just good ol workin men's trucks

Bill Bill ya that about somes it up,Thats probley what will happen just drive it and have fun, don't get me wrong when I say were all in it for the profit, I just think most guys who buy and sell and collect are doing it as a investment so to speek.I had a oldtimmer tell a few years ago that we are all just caretakers of someone elses stuff.Funny thing about Barrett Jackson is it has screwd up the hobby somewhat because like it or not we all watch it and then the wheels start to turn and we all see big dollar signs.I have friends who own many, many , many cars and you get crazy with envy but then again they have to pay all that insurance and dmv fee's not me.But sure is nice to see all of it.Chris | | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 2,549 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 2,549 | It's really not realistic, to base prices on Barrett-Jackson Prices. I've seen so many vehicles, that have been restored incorrectly, bring high prices, that it doesn't make sense.I've seen prices, on cars, & Trucks, at B.J., bring twice, the price, that they would bring, at the other auctions. Couldn't figure it out. I had a guy tell me, that attends it often, that it's mostly, a bunch of "Rich Guys", trading cars, with each other . Now that makes sense. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 35 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 35 | Originally posted by spanky: It's really not realistic, to base prices on Barrett-Jackson Prices. That makes all the sence in the world, I never looked at it that way, but if you watch enough of the B.J. auctions I guess you start to see the same guys only they are wearing differant clothes.Chris | | |
