Here\'s a '51 Burb on ebay that's up to $33,200 and his reserve still hasn't been met .
At that price, I guess I'll have to dig mine out of the pole barn and spruce it up .

That is amazing. There's a really solid rust free AD Burb parked behind the taco stand in a neighboring town that my husband and I have been coveting for about a year. It is just rotting away . . . I might have to launch "Operation Buy the 'Burb" after seeing that!

It's actually a '50. I want to (someday) find a '54 GMC.

Similar to a house when a person over build in a neighborhood that won't support the price .

Who ever buys that Burb will probably drive it on and off a trailer to a car show.

I'd rather drive on the streets and hiways and enjoy the wind in my face .

Seon, I'm with you. I won't ever own something I can't take out and drive.

I have to admit, I've come close to trailering my trucks a couple of times. However, it was only considered due to the distance and time constraints.

My trucks saw alot of dirt, snow, rain etc. before I ever got them, so I don't feel at all bad letting them see some more.

I'm a firm believer in the line in Joker's signature... "Just Drive Em"!

For that price shouldn't it come with a radio.

I'm enjoying driving mine now everyday since my daily driver croaked. It's a handfull but all the looks and waves make it fun. Not to mention just the coolness of the truck, the fact that there's nothing else within a hundred miles or more like it........

Fun, yes.
You spend all the time and money and effort to restore something classic then why close it off behind a garage door only showing it to people at isolated events. While mine is certainly no "show" truck, I show it to as many people as I can on I-24 for 60 miles a day.

He list it as a 1951 and replied it is a 1950 but looking at it, It appears it was /is a 1948 or 1949 by the metal retainer holding the 4hole grommet in place on the fire wall and a 1947-1949 fuse block with metal cover, I had asked him for a Cassis ser number but one was never supplied. He (in my mind) don't know what he has and I don't understand if "He" restored it how he couldn’t know the differences in the years. Anyone else have an idea?

In his write-up, he alluded that he had it "restored" by professional shops and I think that's why his reserve is so high...to recoupe the money he's invested. Nothing wrong with that...it keeps people employed and produces high quality classics . In return, we as "hobbyist" use those premeir classics as a gage to build our .

BTW here's a pic of my daughter's GMC Burb. I've helped her install a Camaro clip, fabricated a 350/350 motor and transmission mounts. She had the body work professionally done and had it primered and sealed. She plans to use it as her daily driver...to drop off and pick up her daughters to school then drive to work. Her husband's daily driver is a '61 Impala bubble top .
She won't have near the cost of the highest bid of $34,660 on that '51 ('50?) Burb, but it certainly will be worth a million dollars to her .
