I have seen a couple kits that let you put 6-lug rotors on the stock 55-59 hubs. Anyone know what these rotors come off of? I doubt that they are custom made just for 55-59 trucks. Just wondering if you bought one of the kits and had to replace a bend or grooved rotor, what would you ask for? thanks.

Probably from one of the Japanese pickups. Maybe they tell you when you buy the kit.

I wouldn't doubt it. Would be nice if you could use the mid-70s' GM rotors. I didn't want to put the 5-lug kit on and need 2 spares. My rear is a late model 6-lug and the front is all stock. At least you get new tapered bearings on the 5-lug kit. I think they use 70's camaro parts for that kit. Easy to find that stuff.

Thanks. What a great web-article. Looks like they are using the 5-lug camaro-type kit. Parts are easy to find for the 70-81 camaro and firebird. I am going to check out a couple other articles on that site. They are a lot clearing than a magazine article and you can zoom in on the photos too! Joe...Thanks for sending the site to me. Great help. Roger

Don't know how I missed it but I did... thatnks for the update. Interesting way of using the stock hubs on the outside of the rotor. I thought the rotoe just slipped over the original hub, like the drums do. Learn something new every day. thanks Joe.

Checked Golden State and Brothers and they both sell the 6-lug kit. My 59 suburban has a later-model 12-bolt 6-lug rear in it now. It is a posi with nice highway gears. I also have a 71 camaro 3:42 posi complete rear end that I could put in the truck then put the 5-lug setup in. That way I would have 5-lugs all around... decisions...decisions... Probably just go with the 6-lug setup. No problems with the rear in it now so if it ain't broke... well.. you know the rest..
