I will be picking up my 52 1/2ton panel next weekend and I'm already "thinking ahead" probably years ahead! Anyhow, I will most likely not use the one original bucket seat and opt for some other seat or matching set of buckets. What has worked for some of you? I'm an old country boy so you have to spell it out for me...the year and model of what you used. If the original can be re-upholstered to feel comfy then I may want to find another original. OK gang, lets hear it.... I'm open for suggestions, wheeling and dealing but no cards up my sleeve.

My '53 panel has both original seats. I think they are cool, but don't expect to use them.

I used some nice leather power buckets from a Honda Accord in my Suburban. No one mistakes them for stock seats.

definitely got to have power.....thanks. I'll keep this one in my head....do the Honda seats sit flat or did you have to built them up???

I had to build some brackets to put them in place. I used some 3 inch channel with the open side pointed in to hide the nuts and bolts.

Sometime soon I intend to take them out and build new mounts from 1-inch square steel tube. While I haven't finished the engineering yet, what I want to accomplish is for the passenger seat to flip forward to make access to the rear area easier.

oldsub, makes good sense. I would probaly thought about access to late if you hadn't mentioned it. If you decide to sell your seats I may be interested.....at least in one of them? I will be picking up my panel this saturday and once seen and assessment made I may decide to stay with the original bucket or do something intirely different?? Maybe I can post a pic or two when I get it .....if I can figure out how!!

I just posted this somewhere else on this site, but I picked up a set(actually 4) buckets from 2004 silverados. The both the trucks had less than 3000 miles on them. The seats are perfectly flat, makes for an easy installation! In addition the seats come with the integrated 3 point seatbelts. They measure 24 inches at their widest. You can find them on E-bay everywhere, just put "silverado seat" in for your keyword search. You just have to pick what interior color you want , grey or tan and cloth or leather. Hope this helps.

OldSub, I'm always lurking around the corner and may drop you a line. I am still planning to go pick it up this weekend. By the time I get back here to where I'm currently working I will have made a 2000 mile trip.....right when gas went up .27 more!! Maybe post a pic or two after I get it "home".
