I think that Chevrolets had blue data plates. Is it possible that somewhere along the way this truck got a GMC data plate riveted on? Black would be correct for the '47-'52 Chevy AD Trucks. If your 1/2 ton, starts with the "KP" prefix, it's a 1952 year model.
