For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 3 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: May 2005 Posts: 3 | Hello, I have a 38 Dodge humpback panel truck that is pretty much rusted out around the wheel well bead. I have not been able to find a picture of what the full bead(even under the bead going into the tire space). I'm trying to find out how the fender attacheds to the wheel well. All is missing. It was stripped when i bought it. I am working from scratch. Thanks | | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 100 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 100 | Hey Fran! Welcome to the Stovebolt. This site is for the most part for Chevies, but some of the guys "cheat" with other makes. I had sent you some pics of my '41 a few months ago... I'm not sure if the wheel well bead is the same for the '38 as the '41. I'll be starting disassembly in the coming weeks, so if you need any pics, just ask.

It all helps. I have the bead shape, but don't know if there is a lip off that bead that the fender and wheeel well attaches. I'm going to look some more., and if I am not successful, I'll put a piece there anyway. It can't hurt to have something to attach to. Thanks again. | | |
