left frame rail where the VIN is supposed to be there is nothing.On
the left side frame rail right behind the front cab mount I found
this number 249 1533 7 14 1701.Does anybody know what this number
meens?

If it is a GMC, the frame rail number is imporant (see Old GMC Trucks VIN Guide ).
