Or what years will fit the 1940? thanks Bill | | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 424 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2000 Posts: 424 | Bill- I don't know if they fit, but I do know what they cost! You may not want to go there unless you score a deal on the seats. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 103 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 103 | Barry What do they cost? I am looking at a suburban 47 to 54 a 52 I think it is rough & rusty but has all 3 seats- still haven't seen what 40 seats look like but I need seats for the 40 they may be the same?? . Got to see the guy as soon as he comes back from vacation. The frames and springs can go up to $1600, I will never pay that but I have seen them go for that. Repo frames (not sure if they are still being made) go for $1000 each without the springs and the front seat sells consistantly on ebay for around $150-250. If you have the time and the place to store the Suburban and if it has lot's of decent parts but with no title and rusty. If he wants to unload it, offer $600 - $1000, you should be able to trade for parts that you need. ........g | | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 424 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2000 Posts: 424 | If he says: "Get it off my property and it's yours", I would think you'd be a pretty happy guy. Not everyone gets $1500 of seats for free!
I know you want to use the seats in your '40, but at those prices I would be tempted to sell the seats and buy 3 more old trucks! Or 8 more old trucks at Minnesota prices. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 103 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 103 | Barry what I meant is he may tell me to get off his property! I don't know the guy, his next door neighbor said he should be back by the end of May. Flying blind on this hope to get the sub from him who knows. At least now I have an idea what to offer him for sub if he will sell. Heading up to northern Maine- Millinocket way there are junk yards up that way that have never seen a crusher - now I would be very happy to find a 40 sub with original seats up there. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 244 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 244 | I think the '40 is narrower than the '47-55/1 seats. | | |
