Hi, My name is John I am new to this site and was hoping that someone here could help me. I just aquired a ?1953 GMC Grain Truck? and am trying to find out more info IE.eng,tans, and axle ratio.I have run the VIN Buster and am now confused.VIN Buster says it's a 1966.My eyes tell me it is a ?53? and the registration says it's a 53 GMC Truck. Here is the SERIAL# on the left door frame (235 22 P 13728).And the number on the registration is (025322P13728).So far these are the only #'s I have come up with. Any help would be appreitiated. Thank You

Your door number is similar to a GMC number but there was no 235 model. Assuming that's a typo and it's really a 253, the 25 indicates 1 ton, the 3 indicates 137" wheelbase, the 22 indicates a 228 engine and the 13728 is the production order which is in the range of 1953 manufacture.
