Guys needsome help I was told that a 17x7 wheel with 3.5 bs on front, and 17x11 with 6.75 bs with 235 45R 17 front, and 305 45R 17 back tirs would fit under a stock 1951 chevy truck, does anybody know for sure? If not could someone give me some advise on wheels and tires. I would like to get 17" wheels, and widest tires posiable. thanks

The front baskspace is right on, the rear seems a little deep, and will most likely rub the bedsides, unlees it's been tubbed. The tire sizes themselves will physicly fit, though if you're still running the stock style running gear, they will be underrated for the load. You will have to run higher tire pressures to compensate for the extra loading.

longbox55 I am going to be running a 9" ford rear end. With a 4 bar coil over suspension. So you are saying that the tires for sure will fit, what about the 17" wheels. I am with you the back seemed a little deep to me to. Do you know what width rear end I need?

The rims should be fine. As far as width, you might do a search in the Engine and Driveline forum. I know the subject came up there several times, so you should be able to get a more accurate dimension there. With the lighter suspension components, the load issue isn't going to be as much of a concern. I only mentioned it from experience with an otherwise stock truck that a customer wanted a low profile tire on (245/45/16 on a '72 C20). We had alot of issues with tire failures due to the insufficient load range.
