Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 56 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 56 | well if the deal closes before my wife finds out, i bought a 59 gmc short bed and a 53 chevy 3100 today. neither one has ran in many years with the chevy being in the best shape. my ?,s are about the gmc. it has the original 6 cylinder and four speed. the bed has the side mount spare and fender . the rims are 6 lug of course, but look to be 2 or 3 piece rims. is this stock for gmc,s? ALSO is the rearend the same as the chevys from that year range and what might the ratio be? thanks and i hope to haul them home this week and will link pic,s of them.
p.s. both trucks are red and there is a bull in the field with them. may take a clown with a barrel along.

If it was a 4 speed it should have 3.90 gears. If it was a 3 speed it should have 3.08 gears. Assuming the 270 hasn't been changed for a chevy motor, the valve cover will be held on by 2 bolts, and there will be GMC stamped on the valve cover with the "flying M" design. | | |
