Met a new Stovebolter over the weekend. We traded wheels. He needed a spare for his 60 chevy special (sweet ride) and had a 16 inch wheel that would work for my 53. It was nice to meet him and his son, and do the exchange. I think we are both happy.

I have a 16 inch wheel with 3 clips and is around a 5 or 5 1/2 width. What would this have been off of? My 55 2nd has 15 inch wheels and the 53 has 16 inch wheels that are a lot narrower.

This got me thinking and I was curious of where this wheel may have originated.

TIA

How many lugs?

I have had the opportunity myself to meet a fellow stovebolter and 2 non-bolters. I am in the process of "talking" a guy into selling me his old truck (wink wink)

Our 1ton had 2 clips, I think. I got PO'd and had Hubby haul them off. Now I kick myself. Should have junked the tires, left the rim. WHOOPS!
