I have a 61 apache 1/2 ton with a 235 and 3 on the tree. I also have a 305 v8 that I would like to swap in keeping the 3 speed trans at least for now. Is this an easy swap and what will I need? This will be my first swap.
Why would you trade a 235 for something so ........... pedestrian? At least consider a bigger 6. A 261 would be cool, and period correct for your truck.
The v-8 was an option on that truck. It is a simple bolt in swap using parts from a simalar truck equiped with a v-8. I put one in my 56 & it was agreat driver. Painted it chevy orange & it was period matching.
