For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! So i take a look at it and tell him how great that frame would be for you '40 chevy that we got last year. Needed a frame and this was perfect. Emailed the guys at the yard and told me how much. So i thought, thats a pretty good deal. So we go borrow my brothers trailer early last saturday morning and make the trek to pick up our new toy, sortof. More of an addition to a toy we had. Pickup the truck and made our way back with it. Got it to my place and we start looking the truck over. And it looked like it was a hotrod from back in the 60's. Had SW greenline guages, a 283, 56 chevy rear, and a 3 speed saginaw which looks to be out of a vette with an early lakewood scattershiled. So enjoy my pics. Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 Picture 4 Picture 5 Im gonna get the frame stripped down and cleaned so its ready for when my buddy josh gets back home from school. Then we'll pop the cab we have on there, dump the sweet little 235 we have and reinstall the rebuilt torqetube rear. Now this cab thats on here is pretty bad but im gonna save it. Since the roofs completely destroyed, im gonna turn the cab into a roadster. Sink the dash down, put a new back on, cut the rust off on the bottom and make a new floor 4" higher. So its gonna be real nice. Ill post pics of it as i go on both projects. I'll bet there's quite a story behind that souped up 46. That came with the first truck i bought last year, the one that is going on this frame. Needed this frame because the other one was a 2 ton. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 2,409 Former Workshop Owner | | Former Workshop Owner Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 2,409 | That could start a whole new catagorey RWISI "Running When I Smashed IT".
