I finally managed to get a day off to go get a few things for the 64.

I had picked up a set of stock cast exhaust, as i was walking back to the exit i saw a k5 2wd blazer and something said GO LOOK AT IT. When i popped the hood there was the same 305 i have with some full length headers hanging on it =)
they are Mr. gasket brand but for $14 who am i to complain.

I also got a automatic , tilt column from a gmc van with the keys still in it. it has the gear indicator on top of it and it functions still has the orange indicator in it. I have the pictures for you to look at in case anyone want to try one of these columns in their truck.
I also got the power brake booster and master cylinder from that same van.

i got everything in the first picture for $100.

Good haul!! Love going to the salvage yard. Unfortunatly, that last time I went, I shot craps. Was looking for a front bumper, and only found 2 trucks with bumpers still on them. 1 was on a '58 3/4 ton Fleetside, and was worse that tne one I have (had a decent long Fleetside bed though), and the other was a GMC with the integral grille. Still, i did get to wander a cool yard with lots of old cars you just don't see anymore, especially with the way yards tend to crush the old stuff and keep the junk (new cars).
Here's some pix from my last trip.

I love going to the yard, there's an old school one about 40 miles away, $25 is the std charge for a bucket fulla stuff, most I have ever paid was $100 for a nice hood & a rad support.

this was all from the local pull a part. They give you a wheelbarrel and you bring your tools. everything is seperated by maker GM, ford , imports . You get to roam around and take off anything you want. most of the local yard dont let you walk around in the yard because of insurance reasons. I like the pull a part because they have the vehicle inventory online so i can see what cars they have on the yard. there was Other stuff i wanted to get today like a nice electric fan setup, but with the heat i just couldnt take it. twas 104 today in nashville, again .

You folks are real lucky. I can't even find a wrecking yard that has parts for my 81 Malibu!

Hey Longbox, if you go back to that yard, I could use the spark plug covers and nuts off that Buick Nailhead!
