I can't answer what the rest of the numbers mean, but someone probably can, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | 3B - 43 is the cab/chassis, 33 is a pu, and I thought 1500 was the 1T 'rated' .... 1938 was when they started the "modern" numbering pattern, and there isn't even a 1400 series listed there, 3/4T to 1.5T were all 1500 with different model numbers, but I think 39 and later they went to 14, 15, 16 series scheme

According to that catalogue there were no 3/4 ton rated trucks in 1939 Chevrolet production, 1431 was a chassis w/flat face cowl, 1432 was a chassis w/cowl, 1433 was a chassis w/cab 1435 was a panel delivery, all rated at 1 ton according to this catalogue, I can only quote what is in front of me, hope that clarifies. | | |
