I am currently working on a 49 3100 with a 235. I will be lowering it and rebuilding brakes and suspension this fall/winter (if I can get my shop organized.)
I just built a new shop and moved all my car junk out of the shop I had been renting for the last 16 years.
Anyway, between a job, wife, two toddlers running around and other chores, my vehicle projects have slowed some.
I also have a few old cars including a 28 Model A, 52 Chevy Styleline Deluxe, 64 GTO, 68 Chevelle and a 67 C10 Short narrow bed.

My daughter has lived in the Collinsville-Owasso area for 10 years so I have been to Ok about 25 times. Great frendly people. She does the barrel racing thing so I have been to Gutherie once or twice. I will be in Ok. around the 3rd week in Sept. Once again welcome to the best sight on the net. Don

I was working for Banvel Herbicide and talking to farmers in that area about the benifits of broadleaf weed control. Here is a link to some pictures of some of my projects including the 49 3100 (and finished 52 Styleline). I haven't had a chance to do much to the pickup yet. So far, I got it running and put the wheels and tires on it. The body is fairly solid so it won't need too much. I plan on restoring the mechanicals and putting it in primer for a while. I was born in Guthrie a little over 60 years ago. Left when I was 4 for OKC. Watch for upcomming events next June for "Smalltown Weekend" in El Reno. We too have a '49 3100 project, to say the least we have a long way to go.
My wife grew up in Bartlesville and her family still lives in the Tulsa area. Maybe we can swing through Guthrie next time we come up.

All of my family on my Dad's and Mom's sides are from Illinois (mostly Mt. Vernon area) and I have an Uncle and Aunt in Lincoln. My youngest son (that I adopted back in 2004) was actually born in Springfield, Il. I'll take your advice and get some pics of the truck to Peggy.
Also, for anyone in the central Oklahoma area, the Flashbacks are having their car show Sept. 15th here in Guthrie. It is their 24th annual show and is not real big, but is in a nice park with plenty of shade and plenty of nice folks.

I live in Sullivan, about 75 mi east southeast of Springfield, close to Decatur, Mattoon, Effingham and Lake Shelbyville. Lincoln is about 75-80 mi and Mt. Vernon about 100. I'm a transplant myself, born and reared in SE Missouri then moved to Western KY before moving to the Illini prairie.
