No instruction sheet of any kind, just parts thrown in a box and mailed. For $150 you'd think they'd include some basic instructions, but no. Anyway, I know how it all goes together, I just don't know WHERE EXACTLY along the frame rails they mount! Can anyone who has done this swap (350 V8 into 1950 3/4 ton pickup with T400 tranny) shed some light on this? Since my cab is removed from the frame right now for restoration this is the perfect time to drop in the new motor, I just need to know exactly where the crossmembers mount, measured from the front end of the frame rails possibly? Any replies are appreciated! Tom

This way you can check your distributer to firewall clearance in a real world situation. You can gently drop on the cab after the engine and mounts are mocked up to ensure all is well before finish welding or bolting in the various crossmembers. You also have to make sure the tranny clears the cab floor or firewall and that the engine downward angle is not so severe it upsets the U-joint angles. You can do it by measuring for sure, but the mock up may save time money and scratched paint in the long run.

I'm using a small distributor "MSD" but I'll give you water pump to radiator measurements, Back of the block to the firewall and some other measurements.
I'm running a 350 small block and a turbo 350 transmission.

Chevy1's measurements would give me a great starting point, then I could check it using Tony's method. Thanks again! Anybody else out there with a 350/t400 set up that can throw some measurements my way would be GREATLY appreciated! Tom
