After almost 7 years of owning my truck, and after having to look at it apart in my back yard for nearly 6 years, I've finally been able to start putting things back together! Last Friday I took time off of work and spent about 3 hours of R & R in the most unlikely of places, sitting on the greasy crossmember of a '74 chevy in a local junkyard getting bolts and nuts for the front end of the '64. My truck sat in the garage for two years waiting for the money to start back up. I've owned it for six or seven years. Now I'm in the middle of a frame-off repair/restore of the cab. Frame, drivetrain, suspension and steering are all done. I'm about to have the motor rebuilt too.

They charged me $2 for a piece for my S-10, and the parts I really went there to get were free! Gotta love that.

Patience to sit and stare and dream for nearly 7 years.......  870pilot, I did have a few knuckle bleeds after I left! I tell ya, it was more fun than I thought it would be. My favorite place in the world is a junk yard full of potential projects. My son's only 10 but he loves a junk yard even more then me!! His mom and sister just laugh. For now I'm the only one who brings home stuff, if he has his way though as soon as he can he'll be bringing all the stuff he can find. They probably won't be laughing then. Come to think of it he has already found one project at the dump. He spotted an old Hodaka dirt bike there a few months ago and it now resides in the garage next to my 750 Honda and the 50 Chevy and the 89 Sprint and about 10 Bicycles. Come to think of it, it's pretty hard getting around in the garage | | |
