On my webshots link below there is a new photo album called "my public shoebox". It contains pics of the interior work I have been doing.

Paint, insulation/soundeadener, wealther stripping, door glass, etc. Don't pay too much attention to the shoddy job on the carpet. That is a piece of indoor outdoor I bought at Home Depot for $15 just to protect the mat until I have money for a real carpet or rubber mat.

The pics don't do the color justice. I will take some in the daylight (if it ever stops raining here)

The doors line up nice the windows work pretty good. I just nee to cut and install my windshield and rear window and then its on to the front sheet metal.

Interiors are my least favorite thing to do, but I think once I get some door panels, a headliner and gauges in, it will look better to me.

I do admit i had the doors on and off about 20 times to get the right fit. The only drawback is the drivers door requires a little more umph to close than I would like but I can live with that. too.

i'm just finishing the interior on my 50 so i know what you mean... i ordered new door panels from harmons, covered them with tweed, and put them on... what a difference it makes to cover that big hole in the door keep on goin rusty, it comin into it.

Digital cameras are getting pretty cheap now days and I know you will want to document all that hard work. Any questions of how to do it can be posted here and all these guys here will be glad to help you.

I have the old door panel frames and a header panel that does not fit so I think I will cut it up for the doors. I figure it will look ok and it wont cost anything.

I just finished rebuilding my speedometer tonight. I broke the pin that drives the needle taking the needle off. Don't ask how it just came apart. I ended up cutting the pin back and epoxying a new custom ground piece to it using the insulation from a 14 ga wire as a splint. I can't even believe it works fine. Of course i don't know how accurate it will be but seeing that I have bigger tires than stock it wasn't going to be accurate anyway.

Hi Rich....just got through admiring your work in the webshots album....thought I might make a constructive comment!!! Believe it or not, there are a bunch of folks out there that will be viewing your pictures. Many of them builders also, who are working on their own rigs and would love to have some details of what YOU are doing. Taking a few minutes to document each photo will really make a big difference!

I've tried to offer a bit of info with each pic in my webshots albums and was amazed at how many folks (65,000) have viewed the site and contacted me directly to share their build stories. Great way to add a new dimension to the Stovebolt experience, and the time spent might just be the "frosting on the cake!" Keep up the great work.

I got most of my panels from Chevy Duty (Classic parts of America now) I have been very happy with the quality so far. I did have to customize some to get a good fit. (the inner to outer cowl panel significantly)I believe that is the case no matter where you get your panels from what I have read here. I did extensively document the steps on my webshots page. (album named "inner to outer panel repair"...very creative)

This was my first time patching with a mig welder on a truck needing so much work. I an please with the metal work I would just add to take your time cutting and welding. Email anytime.

I would agree wholeheartedly. I know the albums I have documented notes on get hit a lot more. I will add docuentation at some point to others. There just nevers seems to be enough time.

Nice!!! What color is that on the interior? It's really sharp! That looks like Mariner Blue for the exterior, correct?

Thats right it is Mariner Blue (or a close copy by duplicolor).

The interior is about 6 coats of duplicolor #T299 Shadow Grey Metallic, with about 4 coats of duplicolor Crystal Clear over it.

My wife loves the color. I wish it was just a little lighter now that it is everywhere in the truck. I am sure once I add my black and chrome trim pieces it will set the color off more and look just fine.

My son wants me to paint the exterior with the green etching primer I have on the doors...I don't think so!
