Not exactly what you might call a factory installation,

But all I got to do is run some wires to that puppy and THEN y'all are agoin' to see somethin'.

Okay, no. I know it's a bit crooked in there, and I have to work on the motor mounts a bit.

No, no. Okay. Seriously. (Did you buy that? Then you'll just LOVE this watch!)
Burgandybolt emailed me yesterday to advise me that his '53 was getting a V-8, and he needed driveway space currently occupied by this 216 and could I help him out by taking it off his hands. So being the wonnerful, warm hearted old truck driver I am, I'll just cut the bull pucky right now and say thank-you, Mike & Susanne, for what may well be the finest freebie I ever scored!

Who needs the 3-speed off this unit?

That's one way to put a little more weight over the rear axle for better traction. grin

I have an opportunity to acquire a '51 AD myself. ohwell

So far, I am undecided.

Do it, man, do it.

I've been thinking about this newly acquired engine. My loose plan for it, at this point, involves waiting for a bit until the liquidity situation firms up, then unbolting everything that will come off and chroming it, painting the outside and doing rings & valves on the inside. Mike said it is a solid runner, showing only a little wear.

Another plan I had early on was - and remains - to find a Cummins 4BT to replace my own 216 when it becomes time, which, based on how beautifully she has been working, may be a while off.

If, therefore, someone on the board was in the meantime to manifest a desparate need for a 216, well.. let's have a talk. You know what I paid for it. I'd be willing to accept a modest profit, say, 10%. 10% of nothing is, uh, let's see... 4.. carry the 12.. oh screwit. Someone else do the arithmetic.
