Hey everyone, it's been awhile; been working hard on my 58 Chevy 1/2 ton 235. Well through the process of elimination I've been able to discern that my steering/road wander problems result from moderate(and observable)loosenes between the Kingpin and the spindle hole it sits in. With the front up I can push that front wheel back and forth and see the Kingpin top moving right along. I know what the fix is but here is my question. A friend of mine just gave me the entire front end, including steering gearbox and the whole column from a 1953 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup. Everything is tight, Kingpin...etc ,even the leaf springs are at proper dimention and radius. Will any of these 53 parts fit my 58, or is it advisable to fabricate and make them fit/work, or just work on the original Kingpin.. I'd have to take it to someone to have it fixed.Sorry so long, thanks..Cubsnextyr

Probably none of these parts will work on your truck without modifications.

Too bad you don't live in the Phoenix area. I've got an entire front suspensiom from a 58 you can have.

You might find a similiar deal close by you. Most people with a 58 will graft on the front end of a nova, camaro, etc and have the old setup to dispose of.
