For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 58 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 58 | I am curious of the newest subframe out of a camaro you can use in a a/d truck? Reason I ask is I know where a guy hydro-planed and parked one on its top, I think his father said it was a 1991 with a V6 and a 5 speed trans. Thought maybe I could use the subframe, trans, and posibly the rearend.
Thanks in advance.
Collecting is fun, as long as momma enjoys riding in them.

My 1988 IROC rear end was too much trouble to modify to use like a stock rear end and I wouldn't want to set it up like the Iroc had it. Maybe it was just the IROC. Different seal / bearing from one side to the other, etc. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 17 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 17 | The axle will work, but will require removing all the coil spring mounts, etc. and welding on your spring mounts. I used an 87 (82-92 are interchangeable) and the TCI rear spring kit, worked out fine. The V-6 type are not super durable, tho, if you plan on towing or big power. +1 on staying away from the subframe. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | Newest Camaro sub you would be able to use is the '81, all of the later ones either are strut cars or the upper control arms and cilover mounts to the body, not the frame.
