Here's the low down: 1955 GMC Straight 6 302 Engine, bendix stromberg carb.
- She was runnig fine and stalled out a couple weeks ago, thought it was out of gas but when refueled the problems started.
- She would backfire and almost get going and sometimes kicked the engine backwards
Everything pointed to the
timing.
Put in new plugs and adjusted the timing. Now she only starts when the choak is out and you push it in, will only stay running if you pump the gas or work the choke. The gas is
getting to the carb, and a
good spark. It doesn't appear that the carb is squirting out gas like it should.
I am thinking a clogged carb... possibly the timing still.
What do you think????
