I've been working on this 46 3/4 ton for a couple of months now. I am converting it from a 3/4 ton to a 1/2 ton and putting it on a S-10 frame.

I'm presently rebuilding my 46 1/2 ton from the ground up with an S10 front end. I'm working on the cab right now and can see exactly what your doing from the pictures. Your really progressing well and things look like there coming together. Good luck and keep us updated. I'm taking a few days off from my project as my hands and arms are quite sore from all the sanding I've been doing on my cab. Looks great, Cheers. Bob T

I'm wanting a modern suspension and lowering of the truck. I will be putting a 350 ci engine witha turbo 350 transmission. I've got the new bed kit in from K-Mar. I think it's going to look sweet when I'm done.

You're shop is too neat and orderly.

Yeah, someone once told me I had Obsessive Compulsive Disorder! That I spend more time putting tools away, than working. I say, Well, I know where the tools are when I need them, and spend less time looking for them and more time working.
I am the same way with my body and paint work too. Which most people say that's a good thing.

I really do hate a messy shop.

So come on guys, any suggestions or advice. I could really use it.

Sounds like a great project,and yeah,its always a good idea to keep the tools in order.

SHOP? That's no shop... That's paradise!!!

Not trying to be picky or anything, but I didn't see any pics of a completely welded patch. Do you complete the welding with spot welds or do you just do a few spot welds to hold the patch in place and then finsh off with body filler?

I get a few spot welds done to hold it in place. The take my time and weld all the way around the patch. If I don't stop and take a picture, the picture won't get taken. I will forget about it and then when I get done, then I will rmember about taking a picture. So usually once I get welding, then grinding, then filler, I've stop to take a break and remember, darn, I forgot to take some more pics.

Stopping to take pics get time consuming. I think we've all been there, right?

You bet, I have forgotten to take pictures plenty of times. I start working on a piece and I intend to stop at some point to get a pic during the process and before I know it , I am finished and didn't even think about the camera.
