I think I remember my dad telling me that were stronger that the “regular” stile and were used on the heaver duty trucks for a while. My '41 3/4 ton came with two on the front and I'm looking for two more for the rear. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 424 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: May 2000 Posts: 424 | '37-'42 3/4-tons came with 6-hole 15" artillery wheels. 1946 was the first year the 3/4-tons used 8-bolt wheels. | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 | What years were the 16s or 17s used? I just got a set of the 16s and was told they came off a 39. | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,952 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,952 | In the latest Rodder's Journal there is a story about similar wheels but they call them milk truck wheels. | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,048 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,048 | Thanks for the info, any leads on where I can get a pair? | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 37 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 37 | Kip, you may be in luck. I believe I have four of the six-lug artillery wheels you are talking about and don't plan on using them. I am looking for two more of the 14-16 spoke 3/4 ton wheels myself. Anyways all but one seem to be in decent shape asides from little surface rust. in fact...one appeared to have been spray painted flat black which is peeling off revealing what looks to be original army green underneath. I'll take some close up pics of them for you and see what you think.

If that's what your looking for then that's not what I have. The ones shown on their website are the ones I'm looking for. I may have been mistaken with what my extra rims are. The extra rims are 16" rims and really narrow. I jkust assumed that they had the olive drab green paint on them that they were the artillery wheels. I'll still take some pictures and send if you like.
