Guys, I haven't worked on my truck in well over ten years. I have forgotten much. smile My truck is a 1948, but this is the third cab it has had. The second one was I thought, a 51-53. While this one that I now have is a 49-50. I have ran the 48' swing door handle, on piece windows in all the cabs. Now, as I remember the cab was different at the striker on the 51-53 cab. The striker never quite worked as it should with the 47-50 (or mid 51 as far as I know) latches. Years ago I bought some parts off an original 51 which had swing handles. It had what looked like "adapter" strikers. One of these strikers is in the center of the photo. It worked much better, but still not as good as I would like. The striker on the right is a 51-53 with push button latches and the one on the left is for 47-50 swing handles. The area on the jamb on my current cab is in the other photo. The early striker fits perfectly there and looks very happy. As I remember the later cab didn't have those holes in the front of the striker where the rubber bumpers would fit. The whole shape of that indentation where they go was different.

Soooo, It looks like I have the early cab like I want, I'll run the strikers like on the left and my swing handle latches will work like intended.

Does this sound like I am on the right track? If you have a photo of your later cabs jamb where the striker bolts I would like to see it.

By the way, the one on the left is a passenger side while the other two are drivers side. Sorry, but those are the first ones I dug out of my shed.

The one on the left is identical to the one on my original '50 cab (with original doors). Sorry, I don't have a pic of what the cab looks like underneath.

Even with original hardware, it seems to be really sensitive to how well the door is adjusted.
