On all the Advanced Design trucks they were black. You will see a lot of trucks with matching boards which looks nice but if your going for accuracy, you need them black. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 183 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 183 | Welcome gmman4! I thought that I read that they were originally body colored. I actually prefer the black running boards and intend to go that way right or wrong on my 54. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | The standard color for A-D running boards was black. I think in 54/55 there were options for wheels painted body color and wheels/running-boards painted body color (but, I cannot find any documentation of this). Maybe the various two-tone exterior options at the end of '54 had body-colored running boards?

Behind each door (The Virtual Garage, The Lounge, Clinics, The Swap Meet, and the Archives) you can find help in your project. And oh yeah, running boards were all black.
