I'm going to be buying this '66 GMC Longbed 3/4T pickup with the original drivetrain and chassis. The truck is not perfect, well, actually, it is! It's got tons of character from 41 years of life, and it's just right. I'm kinda wondering what this truck is worth. It's a running driving truck that is good on the road. It might need some attention paid to get the electrical perfect, and some regular maintenance on the brakes, but that's it. She's a beauty. Can anyone give me an honest estimate on what it's worth? also, since I'm new to the stovebolts, where can I get original seat pattern upholstery for this old gal? OH, it's a black plate truck, and I'll probably be taking it back to the Midwest with me. I'll keep it out of the salt though. I figure i'm going to do nothing more than give it a good cleaning, and polish, and nothing more. I like it rough as it is! Thanks to anyone who can help ahead of time. Also, are there any suggested upgrades that I should take care of when I first acquire this old brute? Thanks again,
John

If you are interested in my '66, make me an offer! I also like doing work, and if you need some done, let me know! Tecnically I live in Southern California, but not for much longer, going back to the MidWest!

Well, I can't tell you what its worth without checking some sort of classic vehicle blue book but... That is a fairly rare truck IF it is truley the original running gear and engine. I am sure someone can quote some production numbers for you and I'll bet they will be low. She's beat up pretty bad with trim missing and such, but no rust is a plus with something that old. I'd say try to compare prices with other similar trucks but good luck finding many. I have a 1990 GMC K1500 that I would trade for it grin

Sorry, not interested in trading for anything later, that is for sure! I like the beat u look to it, and really, it's not too bad. I'll try to post some more pictures later, but you have to appreciate the original character, and old nature of it. It's original, down to the wheels on this truck. It's only got the one seat inside of it giving that raw utility look where passengers just were never meant to ride in there with the worker! I like it. I'll be keeping it for a while, but ultimately I wanted to save it from becoming someone's 4x4 Monster Truck rolling down the freeway in SoCal. This thing needs to be preserved, that's it!

Yeah, more pictures will be coming when my work e-mail can keep up with the processing of good photos. There are some funny bits on this thing, quickest to mention are the outdoor building hinges on the hood. I don't know yet if there are stock hood hinges in place, but I'll find out soon enough. Also, I like the single seat in the cab! That rear bumper, that has to go I think. I'll definitely put more pictures on here of this stock monster when I have them. I'd like to know more information about these if anyone knows any vitals.. Thanks again stovebolters!

Well, here are a few more pictures of my recently acquired '66 Longbed 4x4! Yeah, it looks mean! And stock. I'll need to put the rear window back in, fix that bedache, and some electrical woes. It has the tailgate, but the PO wanted it off for ease of loading stuff. I have to get some new turn signals too for the front! I can't wait to get to drive it!
