oil pan gasket is all cork..also both ends
When I installed it and tightened it down
it leaked perfusley near the flywheel end
I don't believe it was the rear main seal
It seemed to come down near the pan..no oil
ran down the flywheel..Do you think the oil
pan should have neoprene rubber ends..

Guy that helped me replace gasket used an air drive to tighten down the tranny pan. 1 month later had tranny fluid leaking. I replaced the gasket and this time used a little gasket sealer,and tightened by hand. No problems after that. The old cork gasket I removed had actually been split in two from over-tightening.

I glued the cork gaskets on the oilpan with a semi permanent gasket sealer and let that dry. Then I applied a healthy amount of regular gasket sealer on the top and installed it. Just tighten careful.
