old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! After reading this some will think that I have been "laying in the weeds" with my questions about "what is it worth" but I am never too old or too smart to learn from others. These older trucks are not the normal type of thing that I have played with for many years, so I need all of the help I can get.
I was born on 9/11/1950 (yeah 9-11)
My first job was as a new and used car salesman for a small town Dodge/AMC dealership in Northwestern Illinois from 1968-1974. From that point on I was in the auto business in one facet or another.
I basically retired 9 years ago and now just buy and sell my own real estate and play with old cars.
When I retired I was the Director of Fleet Sales for a large dealership in Phoenix, AZ. selling 1300+ cars per year excluding rental cars.
In the years prior to that I have owned an automotive repair shop, body shop, and managed a Special Vehicle & Equipment company that had a sister RV company. We built and sold anything ODD on wheels from mobile command posts, mobile radio and TV units, handicapped vans, commercial truck & van equipment, etc., etc.
In addition to my work I have been addicted to cars since I was 17. I have a love for ALL types of antique, classic, sports, and muscle cars and trucks. Since the age of 17 I have had aprroximately 150 cars and the following is a list of some of the more notable ones.

Thanks to all that have helped me here.

If ya don't buy that one, you could always find something else. The reason some of the regulars on here hammer people when their first posts are 'what is it worth' is because a lot of people come in here wanting quick answers with no legwork, then they disappear. We don't mind helping each other out, but it is a give and take kinda forum. -W | | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 162 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 162 | Welcome. That is an impressive list! I bet you wish you still had some of those cars!

I have personally experienced a wide range of prices and conditions of trucks while putting together my collection of '64-'66 Chevy trucks. I gather as much information as possible about the era of trucks that I have interest in. Check the local paper, www.craigslist.com, in your area and eBay. Another good source of information is www.oldchevytruck.com for many vehicles from the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's & 70's. Kelly and NADA can be a good source of a classic truck's value. In closing, since you have owned so many vehicles, you may be more versed than many, to determine if the truck you are interested in, is worth the investment. Without seeing the truck, it is not a good measuring stick to take anyone's advice, good or bad on what a truck is worth. Look it over good and kick the tires. If you think it merits the cash outlay, do the deal and get to truckin. Good luck. I hope you buy it or another stovebolt. Tony | | |
