Is there away to go with power steering without dropping another front end in the truck. I am pretty sure my wife will not like the truck with out power steering.

Most vendors sell a kit to adapt a later power steering box to your truck. Link.

There is a "power assist" steering kit available for your truck- it replaces the drag link with a valve body, and has a hydraulic ram mounted to the axle and tie rod. It is all bolt-on.

A bit pricey but you also get new tie rod parts.
