Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 213 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 213 | I'm trying to install the correct grill on my truck, it has a 64-66 grill on it now. I believe I have the correct parts, the grill bolts up fine. The problem is the headlight backing plates and bezels don't seem to fit right. I replaced the headlight adjusting screws because the original ones were broken. The side ones don't seem to fit through the grill correctly and the bezels aren't fitting flush with the grill and I don't see any mounting points for the lower bezels screws. The bezels are oval shaped on the bottom and the grill's headlight opening is more straight on the bottom which seems wrong too. I know it's confusing or hard to explain without a picture. Any help is appreciated. Joe

Do you have a factory assembly manual? I am not an expert but I wonder if maybe you have some incorrect parts or possibly GMC parts or something mixed in. Someone will be able to help you soon I am sure...good luck!

I probably should pick one up. You may be right about having some wrong parts, like the backing plates maybe, that would make sense. Maybe you can answer a question for me. Do you know how the bottom screws on the bezels are mounted to your grill? I don't see any mounting points on mine unless there's supposed to be a speednut type fastener on the grill. Joe

I am not sure what you mean exactly. Do you have a digital camera? If you could send me some pics it would help. I would be more than happy to take my headlights out and send you some pictures. I need to know what you need though.
